* SLUFAE (Surface-Launched Unit, Fuel-Air Explosive) is a mine clearing FAE system, consisting of a 30-tube (20kg) rocket launcher mounted on a modified M548 tracked vehicle. The XM130 SLUFAE has a range of about 150m, and the rocket then explodes a few feet above the ground and the FAE warhead creates a large overpressure area causing land mines to detonate. In MSH it has DEF 2 (5), must move at combat speed or less to conduct mine clearing, clears a 2.5″ wide by 2.5″ deep section of Minefield (i.e. centred on and immediately in front of the stand), but must throw 2+ on D6 to be successful (unlike other Mine Clearers – see 15.2.3 Page 35) but Kills any unarmoured stands and causes an automatic Suppression of any armored stands in the area of Minefield cleared (due to the combined FAE explosion and simultaneous detonation of multiple mines). It may not clear mines in the area immediately under it’s own stand (i.e. if it is already inside the minefield). Two SLUFAEs can fairly rapidly clear a Company wide lane through a minefield.
** Any of the three FIST-V FOs can call in the Brigade Artillery Battalion each turn, although it can still only fire once (so essentially 3 Fighting Battalions can benefit from having an FO present for requesting the artillery support).
Victory
The Krasnovians win by occupying their objective (the ‘Communications Centre’ Town Sector) and having moved 3 Battalions (each of at least 5 stands) off the West table edge before or while it is occupied (i.e. securing the Western approach to it) and preventing the U.S Victory conditions; or by destroying/routing 4 of the 5 U.S. ‘fighting’ Battalions. The U.S. win by getting 3 Battalions (of at least 5 stands) off the East table edge (securing the start line for the 4th Armored Division’s main attack) and preventing the Krasnovian Victory conditions; or by destroying/routing two-thirds or more of the up 18-21 Krassnovian ‘fighting’ Battalions. Any other result is a draw.
